Sensitively refurbished, Tynycornel is a solid, traditional building, rich in original character and traditional charm. The en suite rooms have splendid lakeside or garden views and guests can also stay in the adjacent accommodation, converted from old farm buildings. All rooms have TVs, telephones and tea/coffee making facilities. The staff were excellent, could not have done any more for us, kind, friendly and responsive to all requests. The setting is beautiful and the hotel very comfortable. We highly recommend this small hotel.

The hosts could not have been more charming, helpful, and accommodating. So many thoughtful touches to make our stay easy were in every category of the hospitality. The bedroom was large and the ensuite bathroom was larger than any we've ever had at a B&B. Breakfast was amazing, not just the amazingly delicious food, (not just tasty, but elegantly presented) but the service sweet Phillipa provided could not have been more attentive. If we are ever back in Wales, we would stay at Awel y Mor in a heartbeat.

Guests can also relax in the garden or in the shared lounge area. Absolutely beautiful room with a lovely view. Clean and tidy with everything you'd need for a visit. There's even a small kitchen area with sink, microwave and fridge which is good to note if you want to bring food and drink. Hosts were lovely and really accommodating, and it's only a 7-minute drive to the centre of Hay on Wye, which was really convenient. The included breakfast was delicious, a really nice, varied menu, and lots provided to fill you up for the day. It was all fresh and good quality too. Overall, a lovely short stay which I'd recommend.
