Dundalk
Situated in Dundalk, Ballymascanlon Hotel and Golf Resort is set within 130 acres of parkland. It boasts an 18-hole golf course and a health club, along with a sauna, indoor swimming pool, and a hot tub. Fabulous stay!! A beautiful property. Our room was huge, it was so lovely to be able to rest, spread out and open our bags easily. We loved having a bath and enjoyed the space and decor of the room. The resort itself is away from the town, costing us about 15 Euros in a taxi to get into town and then another 15 Euros to come back. We decided after that to stay in the hotel and use the facilities there. We were very surprised with the prices of beer and wine in the hotel, which were pretty similar to the pubs. We enjoyed a few evenings in the bar and ate the soup and chicken wings - which were great. Breakfast was amazing too! The staff were so lovely, Paula in the bar, Jacqueline and Emily in the restaurant, as well as Tommy and Natalia. Everyone was so very friendly and we had a lot of fun while we were there. We had just finished a 3 week drive around Ireland and Northern Ireland, and were looking for somewhere to fill in 3 nights before heading back to Dublin. Very good value for money - with lovely walking opportunities as well as the chance for a steam, spa and swim in the resort.

Lovely hotel in relaxed surroundings. Staff were friendly & helpful, good facilities and comfortable rooms. Tasty breakfast and overall a great experience.
Lovely staff . Tasty food . Plenty of areas to relax . Comfortable room . Ps my mum and dad in 1954 had their honeymoon here so that was my reason for staying
Loved the location, house has so much character. I'm an outside person so I loved the back garden unfortunately the weather wasn't great and didn't get to sit out in it, the fairy lights looked amazing. The bath was my favourite as my body gets sore and it was so relaxing. A lovely big living room which my family enjoyed being together in. We would like to thank the host for the lovely wee touches of having milk, bread, butter, chocolates and the orange juice maker ❤️
Our stay was amazing, The bedroom was larger, clean and spacious. We had a jacuzzing bath which was beautiful, a tea station and a mini fridge. There was robes and slippers in the wardrobe which was such a nice touch. The swimming pool was lovely, and never too busy, as well as the beautiful indoor and outdoor jacuzzi. Food was amazing and fast, we ate in the bar and also the secret garden which both had lots of options. The gardens were amazing, and were beautifully looked after. We will be returning, as this stay was so relaxing.
