The manager and security guard are lovely ppl. As a solo female traveler I felt safe and comfy. I booked the small room which has a door leading to a balcony, where one can see the lighthouse at night and early wee morning, men playing cricket in the area leading to the port. Step onto Dr Ambedkar Rd go right and it’s a short walk to the beach, where locals fill up the streets for snacks and and a stroll. On the way stop by City Punjabi Dhaba for great meals, hygienic kitchen, and a Goti drink. Facing Dr Ambedkar Rd, cross the street left of the aquarium shop use gps to take you to center of White town not far from Mission St (Mission Kafe worth a visit) town (short cut) and you’ll go thru a very interesting area.

Situated in Pondicherry, 8 km from Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Le Pondy offers accommodation with a private beach area and a garden. We had a wonderful stay al Le Pondy. The rooms were delightful with a baranda outside with an overhead fan. The staff was attentive to our needs and wants. The message at the Ayurveda center was excellent. Walking on the beach to see the fishermen and especially the sunrise was memorable. We highly recommend Le Pondy.
