This is the NICEST “hostel” properties I’ve ever stayed at in all my travels!! Every detail is perfect! Exquisitely clean, well equipped, laundry, wonderful breakfast, plentiful WC ratio per guest, two kitchenettes, comfy beds, and excellent views!! My only regret is that I could not stay longer!

Private bathrooms are featured in the bright, basic rooms at Country Hotel Heydalur. You enter each room from the outside. The accomodation is located in a farm, basically in the middle of nowhere, but it's totally worth taking the long journey in the Westfjords to get to this place. It has a very unique feeling, you are in the nature. I arrived very late, around midnight, but communication with the hotel staff and then self check in was very easy. After arrival I jumped into the hot pool (which is available 24/7), they have both outdoor and indoor pools (in an amazing palm house). Breakfast was divine with a lot of local produce, it's definitely worth the additional 2000 ISK that I had to pay for that. It's a place where I definitely have to return one day.

Urdartindur Guesthouse and Cottages is located in Norðurfjörður. Set on the beachfront, this property has a private beach area, a garden, barbecue facilities and free WiFi. There is parking on-site and the property offers an electric vehicle charging station. This was our favorite accommodation in the Westfjords. First of all, the price matched the quality, which allowed to accommodate two couples. We enjoyed the sounds of the sea coming from the ocean and the swim at nearby thermal natural pool. Thank you for this opportunity to stay at your place, it was a fantastic night at your lodge.

Minimalist design with modern furnishings decorates each Fosshotel Westfjords room. All have a flat-screen TV, blackout curtains and bathroom with a shower. Guests can enjoy views of either the surrounding mountains or fjord. The room was really clean and the shower was roomy. Bed was so comfortable. Had a fridge which is a nice bonus on a road trip with perishable items. The breakfast buffet in the morning was great....it had all the things. The staff at the front desk were sincerely friendly and helpful.
