The breakfast was our favorite of the whole trip, especially the homemade waffles! We can't wait to return next time we visit Iceland.

We stayed in one of the wooden cottages at Stóra-Vatnshorn and really enjoyed the peaceful setting. It was so quiet, with just the sound of a stream behind the cottage, and the view was beautiful. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed for our stay. It was a bit cold when we first arrived, but it warmed up quickly once the heating was on. The cottage is accessed by a gravel road. An ideal getaway for peace and quiet.

My wife and I arrived fairly late (8:30 pm), and we found that the bathroom was too difficult to access, given her mobility issues. I had reserved a room with shared bath, but had not considered that the toilet would require several stairs. The host sent us to a nearby hotel that had an easier toilet access, without any extra charge. We were very grateful for this. The facility looked very nice with a superb scenic view.

Private bathrooms are featured in the bright, basic rooms at Country Hotel Heydalur. You enter each room from the outside. The accomodation is located in a farm, basically in the middle of nowhere, but it's totally worth taking the long journey in the Westfjords to get to this place. It has a very unique feeling, you are in the nature. I arrived very late, around midnight, but communication with the hotel staff and then self check in was very easy. After arrival I jumped into the hot pool (which is available 24/7), they have both outdoor and indoor pools (in an amazing palm house). Breakfast was divine with a lot of local produce, it's definitely worth the additional 2000 ISK that I had to pay for that. It's a place where I definitely have to return one day.

Dating back to 1828, this family-run farm in West Iceland offers bright rooms with country-style décor. Facilities include a guest kitchen, TV lounge and terrace with outdoor hot tub. Hraunfossar’s waterfalls are 15 km away. Everything about this place is awesome. The host was a really nice, kind, caring lady. She greeted me very well, she made us breakfast in the morning. I used the hot tub to relax, and kitchen for cooking. They are amazing, I will definitely recommend them and will be back soon :) oh, I also loved the dogs 🐕 ❤️ Thanks for your great hospitality:)
