Ryokan Asunaro: A Traditional Japanese Inn in Takayama. Nestled just a 6-minute walk from Takayama Station and the Nohi Bus Center, Ryokan Asunaro offers an authentic Japanese inn experience. Very nice Ryokan. Room was super big that had sitting/tea area. We ordered the dinner separately and it was a very nice experience too.

Situated in a tranquil area in Gifu Region, a 52-minute drive away from JR Takayama Station, Mozumo boasts a hot-spring bath and rooms decorated with modern Japanese interior. Spacious rooms, very tastefully decorated in a minimalistic style. The private onsen was blissful. Food was excellent (although a bit pricey). The hotel is 5 minutes from the bus station, with connections to the main cities and to the Kamikoche park. Overall, highly recommended.

Located a 5-minute drive from Gero Station, Kawakamiya Kasuitei offers traditional Japanese-style guestrooms featuring tatami (woven straw) flooring and hot spring baths in the Gero Onsen area. Everything was amazing. Lovely staff which took very good care of us, amazing onsen, superb ryokan breakfast

Located in 15-minute bus ride from JR Takayama Station, Guest House & Cafe SOY is surrounded by lush greenery. Free WIFi is provided and free private parking is available on site. Our stay at Soy was amazing! Tai and his parents made us immediately feel at home. They are so nice and warm. The house is realy impressive. It is built in the old Ryokan style and renovated by the family itself which gives your stay an authentic feeling! Thank you so much for everything! Many greetings to Tara from us :)

Reopened after renovation in 2022, Auberge Hidanomori is situated in quiet hills, a 10-minute shuttle ride from JR Takayama Station. staff was extremely pleasant. the place is amazingly decorated. They made special and great breakfast for my spouse who's gluten free.

Located just a 1-minute walk from popular Miyagawa Morning Market in the heart of Takayama, Sumiyoshi Ryokan offers homely Japanese-style accommodation in the historic townhouse building. Beautiful and cozy Ryokan from a lovely and kind family. Was a unique and special experience to stay here. The breakfast was delicious, nice location by the river, and the onsen was relaxing. Would highly recommend!

Located on a hill and overlooking the famous Gero hot-spring area, Yunoshimakan, founded in 1931, offers large public indoor hot spring baths and open-air hot spring baths. LOVED THIS ACCOMODATION it felt like switching off and going back in time The staff are amazing and so hard working and the location is stunning. I found the traditional futon a bit uncomfortable to sleep on but it was nice to try out for a night the fact that the doors to the private onsen open up so you can enjoy the breeze and scenery is wonderful as is their shuttle service

A 3-minute drive from JR Gero Train Station, Izumi-so offers Japanese-style rooms, an indoor and an open-air natural hot spring bath and Japanese cuisine. My husband and I had an incredible experience at Izumi-So. Facilities were clean, owners were welcoming and incredibly friendly and hospitable. Highly recommend !

Set amid a beautiful landscape in Okuhida Onsengo hot-spring area, Yamazatonoiori Soene offers beautiful rooms in a Japanese style with river or garden views. Meals were absolutely delicious. We loves trying all the different onsens
