This guesthouse is located along one of the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Routes and Yunomine Hot Spring, said to be one of the oldest hot springs baths in Japan, is a 5-minute walk from the property. Exceptional Guesthouse. I must thank the Manager (did not get his name) for refunding me for a night's stay as there was a change in plans. He was very, very kind. I loved the in-house onsen.

Theres also a free shuttle to and from Kyoto station with multiple times every day. The public bath is so great and serene with all the amenities you need in it (towels, hair brushes, face wash/makeup remover, cotton ear buds, lockers to keep your things, a water dispenser, hairdryers, plastic hair covers… etc). Such a wonderful and unforgettable stay truly worth the price!

The hotel has very nice cultural activities such as writing in Japanese and pictures with traditional outfits and many others. Very nice traditional Japanese baths, the staff is super friendly and helpful. Choose rooms with garden views. Highly recommending.

Kansai International Airport can be reached with a 105-minute bus ride from the property. Nishi and Higashi Hongan-ji temples are respectively a 15 and 10-minute stroll from the hotel. It’s better than a 5 star. Great bed, great amenities, great staff, always helpful. The bedrooms are new and they have everything you need and more. Good breakfast and great location. Better than inside de station because when you stay there you tend to get dinner inside the station. This one is 1 block away and full of options. Great laundry, lot of machines.

Located in the sacred Koyasan area, Saizenin offers simple accommodation surrounded by mountains and many temples. Originally developed as a lodging for the temples’ pilgrims, it conducts Buddhist services every morning that guests can attend. Nankai Koyasan Train Station is a 15-minute drive away. Koyasan was my favorite place in our Japan trip. If You want authentic Japanese experience- this is the right place for You. Please plan Your day in Koyasan to get back to Saizenin ~ 17.00 for dinner.
