Rooms were spacious and bright, the lounge area for use in the afternoons with drinks and snacks was very welcome after a day in the extreme heat/humidity in August. I was emotional to leave, we had such a wonderful stay. Prefer location for Gion, but also easy walk across the bridge/river to busier part of the city. It felt like a home away from home.

The Nara Visitor Center and Inn is situated in the heart of Nara, just a 3-minute walk from Kofuku-ji Temple and Naramachi. This accommodation exceeded our expectations. The staff were so friendly and helpful on arrival. Our room was large, spotlessly clean and comfortable. We had a great view from our room of the deer on the grounds below us. There is a little kitchen along the hall you can use and a small supermarket next door for groceries as well as a public Onsen downstairs. It had absolutely everything you would need.
