We wanted for nothing and the vibe of the hotel really helped immerse you in the local area. A great experience.

They were very helpful recommending restaurants. The breakfast is very tasty. We got to taste their home made apple jam from locally grown apples. Yummy! We also tried the onsen at a hotel nearby. We walked to and from the Monkey Park. The hike up was warm, but still manageable. We found a hot footbath along the way in a neighbouring village.

Opened in August 2012, B&B Hotel Hyochoan offers simple Western-style accommodations. Free in-room WiFi is available and guests can enjoy bird watching from the property’s terrace. JR Karuizawa Station is a 15-minute drive away. After five weeks in Japan having breakfast cross country I can say that this was the best breakfast we had. Home cooked and presented with pride for the products they use. The owners are the sweetest people we have met during our trip. Would recommend to stay here with exclamation marks (!).

A free shuttle is available from Yudanaka Train Station, which is a 5-minute drive away. It was calm and very traditional, exactly as we hoped. The staff was so precious and sweet we didn’t want to leave. We would definitely recommend. We got access to public onsens as well as a private one🌟

The owner has been very arranging and helpful, saving us time and logistics. We are very grateful and we really appreciated it. This was our best experience in Japan (!!!!)

A small 6-room inn with Ryokan meals and cosy interiors, Yasuragi is just a few minutes drive to Jigokudani Monkey Park and an 8-minute walk from Yudanaka Train Station. Hot-spring baths are featured. Free WiFi is available throughout the property and free pick-up service from Yudanaka Station is provided. We really liked Yudanaka Yasuragi. The owners did everything to make us feel comfortable—they picked us up from the train station, drove us to the monkey park the next day, and were generally very kind and eager to help. The food was amazing—you really can't miss the dinner they serve there; it was one of the best we had in Japan. The onsen is fantastic, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. You should definitely visit this place!

It is ideal for sightseeing such as Kamikochi, a mountainous scenic spot, Norikura Kogen, which has abundant trekking courses, Azumino, an original landscape of Japan blessed with Dosojin and spring water, and Utsukushigahara Kogen, which was praised by Kihachi Ozaki, a mountain poet. Family friendly and cozy. We were able to do a family onsen and it was very nice. Traditional Japanese room, comfortable and cozy. It was excellent
