Kannawaen is an entirely non-smoking accommodation that features a garden, terrace and bar in Beppu. 100 metres from Hells of Beppu, the property is also 500 metres away from Jigokumushikobo Kannawa. Lovely location. In room onsen was so awesome to have. Views from the balcony were exceptional, mountains, the city and the sea. The food was absolutely gourmet level and was a highlight for us. The staff were warm, friendly and helpful.

It was my father's first time staying at ryokan and he absolutely loved it. The property was beautiful, staff incredibly sweet and friendly, and the meals delicious. The property has indoor and outdoor private onsens. Truly a relaxing experience being in an outdoor onsen, especially in the morning. There is a free coffee machine for espressos in the lobby available at certain hours. We booked with the breakfast and kaiseki dinner included. Everything was delicious and the staff are so on top of bringing out the next course. Lovely experience tucked away in a beautiful mountain setting. Highly recommend staying here!!

Pension Yufuin prides itself on an outdoor public hot-spring bath featuring large rocks, that’s unique in Oita. It also offers a garden, a terrace and free WiFi at the lobby. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The hotel was also really nice and we loved the hot springs. Both the public and family baths were super nice. I highly recommend staying here.

Kutsurogi-no-Yado Nanakawa offers private maisonettes with a private outdoor hot spring bath, a Japanese-style living room and free wired internet, a mere 1-minute stroll from Lake Kinrin. We enjoyed the traditional Japanese style of this hotel, staff friendliness, and its food. Amazing Japanese style breakfast. The hotel was flexible and considered our preferences for breakfast. The dinner was exceptional and great value.

Boasting and classic Japanese ambience, Yufuin Santoukan provides traditional accommodation just a 5-minute drive from JR Yufu Station. The location is excellent and great to have parking. Although the property is dated, the rooms are very clean and the beds very comfortable. We had our.own onsen outside in our garden and that was fabulous. The meals were excellent and our hostess Ayuna was an absolute delight. Definitely recommend this property

Yufuin-Sanso Waremokou offers large Japanese-style rooms boasting an open-air cypress hot spring bath, sweeping nature and city views and a massage chair. Stayed for two nights. Our room had two outdoor onsens which was well maintained and clean. Room is a little dated but still clean. As we had a half board package, daily breakfast and dinner were included. Food was superb with a hearty Japanese breakfast and dinner was shabu shabu on the first night and bbq on the second. Service was top notched. We had a nice Nepalese lady looking after us. We had a private room for all our meals and were very well looked after. Lastly, the staff took our photo and printed it out for us for keepsake upon check out. Nice gesture. I had an extra photo taken with the owner's little brown poodle Hazel. :)

Yawaragi-no-Sato Yadoya features 6 hot spring baths, a Japanese restaurant and universal design, only a 2-minute walk from the picturesque Yu-no-Tsubo Kaido (Yu-no-Tsubo Road). So convenient to all the attractions and restaurants. The onsen is beautiful.
