Originally built in 1889 as a red-brick cotton mill, this historical hotel is just 300 metres from the Bikan Historical Quarter. It features 2 restaurants, a bar and gift shop. Fairly central, the room was clean and had everything I needed for a short stay.

Dormy Inn Kurashiki is a 6-minute walk from Kurashiki Train Station and a 40-minute drive from Okayama Airport. clean room, excellent bath, welcome drink. all nice.

Chinese and pasta restaurants, massages and free-use bicycles await guests of Hotel Excel, a 15-minute walk from JR Okayama Train Station. Rooms include free internet and a satellite flat-screen TV. The hotel was accessible from the station with a short street car ride (can be walked too, but we'd rather not with our luggage). We enjoyed the view from our room on the garden and the castle, very beautiful at night. The café was handy for breakfast. We did not use it for other meals. The garden and the castle were within walking distance as well as local eateries.
