Staying in a traditional ryokan house was an unforgettable experience that I recommend to anyone traveling in Japan. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and their fluent English was a pleasant bonus. We tried the local onsen, which was a wonderful experience. The accommodation is simple, as expected from the traditional style, and all the amenities were completely sufficient. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area. I highly recommend it and thank you for a fantastic stay!

Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, JOYinn is located in Izu Kogen. There is a free shuttle pick-up and drop-off service available for guests from Izu-Kogen Station. This was beyond expectation, the owner speaks perfect English and picked us up at the station, we were greeted by two lovely dogs in the house and enjoyed fantastic sea view from our room! Will def come back if we’re visiting Ito again!

Featuring private open-air hot spring bath in all rooms, Isaribi is located in Hagashiizu, 2.7 km from Atagawa Hot Springs. They were truly accommodating and informative. Went above and beyond to allow us to make it for dinner even though weather made driving there difficult.

Open air bath was amazing!! A lot of details in the from as well as common facilities. Loved the wood interior and it’s smell.

Quiet, serene and restful after a busy 3-weeks of touring. The view of the bay and surrounding forest was calming and beautiful. In the morning the birdsong was lively and delightful. The meals were outstanding! The best experience of our trip ( and we had many excellent meals). The presentation was lovely and the staff was attentive and helpful. We wish we could have stayed longer.

Mars Garden Wood Gotenba promises its guests relaxing spa treatments, a hot spring bath and karaoke rooms, only a 10-minute drive from Gotenba Premium Outlet. Lovely hotel with outstanding views of Mount Fuji! We spend on night here on our way to Kyoto and it was the perfect relaxing night after Tokyo highly recommend.

Located right in front of the ocean, Gardenvilla Shirahama features accommodations with ocean views and free Wi-Fi. Friendly and very helpful staff. Private onsen was fantastic. Inexpensive drinks on the terrace and delicious breakfast.

Guests at Hanafubuki can relax in one of 7 private hot-spring baths, indulge in traditional Japanese cuisine, and enjoy in-room views of the hotel’s private garden. Hanafubuki was an exceptional experience. The rooms are spacious, the onsen experiences were wonderful and the food that was included really pushed us to try something new. The staff is fantastic, we especially want to highlight the lovely lady who checked us in, the team at breakfast and dinner, and the gentleman that helped us with our taxi.

Located a 15-minute walk from Izuinatori Station, Hamanoyu offers traditional "Nakai" personal attendant service, hot spring baths, massage and karaoke facilities. There's a shuttle that will pick you up from the station and it's a short drive to the hotel. The seaside suite with private onsen was incredible! The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was massive and equipped with a large soaking tub with a tv on the wall. This was the ultimate way to relax! We were able to adjust the temperature of our private onsen to our taste using the cool water faucet. The onsen is on the patio and we had a direct sea view. Every night we went to bed with the sounds of waves crashing on the rocks. The staff were attentive and kind. The meals were served in the suite for both breakfast and dinner. Both meals were multi-course affairs filled wth a variety of dishes with the freshest of cuisine. The staff were incredibly accommodating in providing me a shabu pot to cook the raw fish since I am pregnant. They also gave me juice instead of wine for the apéritif.
