Just remember this is bear country so sing your way through the hike.

The area is quiet but still not far from the restaurants and convenience store. Our preschool kid didn't have a problem walking around. The room was cozy and relaxing to stay in. The host was very kind. He gave us recommendations on places to go and drove us to the train station. We will stay here again if we visit the area.

Established in 1666, Honke Bankyu is housed in a registered historical building. The Japanese rooms feature traditional decor, futon bedding and a flat-screen TV. The whole experience was exceptional, the food magnificent, I would definitely recommend it and stay there again

About a 20-minute walk from the Nikko shrines, Annex Turtle Hotori-An is situated next to the Daiya river and green forests. It features hot spring baths with river views. Though a bit far from a lot of things, being by the river and near the park was beautiful. Their onsen was great at night but you get spectacular views in the daylight

The kaiseki dinners and breakfasts were clearly the highlight of the stay. They might arguably have been worth the entire cost of the stay, and make the ryokan itself a destination for a quick trip from Tokyo. The setting is beautiful, looking down over a rushing mountain river. The staff were attentive and seemed to be genuinely sweet and caring people.

I truly think it is great value for Kinugawa Onsen. The rooms are luxurious, the onsens are beautiful and serene. I love the foot bath cafe, and the view and bridge in autumn are spectacular.

The accommodation is in a beautiful and peaceful town, lots of great food and cafes nearby, if you want a break from the city this town is perfect. The accommodation itself is very clean, it has shared showers and a toilet with locks on them, ACs in the rooms. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, check-in is very straightforward, they even let us store our items in our room before the specified check-in time.

The bed was quite comfortable and the outdoor bath was wonderful. I also enjoyed the public onsen as well. The breakfast and dinner were extremely generous portion-wise and quite tasty.
