The facilities are all wonderful... it is such a magical place! The interior courtyard garden is peaceful and lovely. The outdoor onsen is a gem... and not too hot, so one can actually enjoy it for a nice long time. And the food is just delicious, inventive, beautiful, and totally satisfying. I stayed one night, then spent a night away at Mt. Haguro, then returned for a second night's stay at Tachibanaya and felt as though I was coming home!

Winter closure of the open-air baths "Shirakaba-no-yu" (Late December - 28 February)

Due to the accumulation of snow, the open-air bath will be closed during the winter. Until it reopens, you will only be able to use the indoor baths. Please note that the outdoor baths, indoor baths and footbaths of "Hanareyu Hyakuhappo" are open for use as usual. I would absolutely come back and stay here again. The rooms were so big which was a great change from all the other rooms we've had. The facilities were modern and comfortable and the staff really couldn't do more for you. The on-site onsen was also really great, and I can also recommend to get a massage! Great hotel overall
