Beautiful location, very comfy bed and such friendly hosts! I would recommend this place to everyone who wants to go to Polonnarawu. It’s very affordable and the location is right next to the ancient city. You can get a bicycle to get around. The food is amazing, the wife of the host is a truly amazing chef. Every night we would go for a little wild life walk, free of charge! He also helped me to arrange a safari tour, which was very affordable; I was by myself and I paid the entrance fee and I had a my own driver/guide and in total I did not spend more than €75,-!! I would recommend everyone going here!

Tishan Holiday Resort is located in Bendiwewa in the region of Polonnaruwa. The archaeological area is 3.5 km away from Tishan Hotel. Hotel features a year-round outdoor pool and sun terrace. Everything ☺️ The staff are super helpful and don’t mind spending time to explain things and impart knowledge. We arrived after lunch time due to rain delays, and the manager made a plan for lunch without making us feel we were a bother. Delicious food 😋 and comfortable accommodation 👍🏻 A definite must stay when en route or even a few days to relax next to the pool. The garden is lush and tranquil 🌹🙏🏼

We highly recommend Sunset Tourist Home to anyone looking for a delightful place to stay with an outstanding host! Ask the host for the catamaran tour: a tour with a local fisherman to spot birds and eliphants (we saw them swimming). Breakfast and dinner are optional and are prepared by the host.

We booked Livinginn Polonnaruwa online and stayed there with three families. It was a great experience from start to finish. The rooms were spacious enough for our budget, very clean, and well-maintained. They also served us delicious food exactly as we requested, and always on time. The owner was extremely helpful and welcoming, which made our stay even more pleasant. The garden area was perfect for our kids to play and enjoy safely. The dining area was also very convenient—fully equipped with plates, glasses, spoons, a burner, microwave, fridge, and everything we needed to prepare or enjoy meals comfortably. Another big plus is the location—very close to the main attractions in Polonnaruwa like Gal Viharaya and Rankoth Vehera. Overall, we’re really happy with our stay and can confidently say that Livinginn Polonnaruwa is truly value for money. Highly recommended!
