Breakfast was excellent and well worth paying for in advance. It is in a perfect location just across from the Cathedral. Don't miss going to Los Dorados de Villa. Their specialties are pozole verde and enchiladas. The town is beautiful and despite activities of the cartel in the outside ranches, that does not effect the town. The parking was excellent, underground, safe and a guard is present 24 hours per day. It only costs $3.50 US for valet. The staff are really nice and look after you.

Hotel Casa Santa Lucia has a roof terrace with fantastic views of Zacatecas Cathedral, located just 100 metres away. It has history behind it. Architectural side of it just something I have always loved so this stay was perfect for me. No need for a car everything close and if needed a taxi or Uber will do without it even being a long drive. Highly recommend it if you like this type of architecture but if you prefer more of a modern look this is probably not for you.

Built around a restored 19th century bullfighting ring in the heart of the picturesque colonial city of Zacatecas, this luxury hotel offers elegant accommodations in a warm and historic atmosphere. The hotel is amazing! It's an old bull ring as indicated in the hotel description. An old aqueduct passes right by it. The whole atmosphere is rather charming. I arrived on an early morning flight. They let me check in right away as they had a room ready- though the actual check in time is 3pm. Throughout my stay I found the staff very friendly, kind and efficient. I have to make particular mention of Rebecca at the front desk. All of the requests I made to her were efficiently followed through. I also asked for a late check out on my fourth day (had an evening flight). She checked to see if there was availability and allowed me to stay on. She is also fluently atleast bilingual (English & Spanish) from what I saw. The other person I have to mention is the person in charge of the breakfast area. The breakfast that's included in the room rate is a continental style one with bread, fruits, coffee. I was curious about the Mexican fare they had on the weekend buffet. He practically helped me prepare a taco with yesca- walking with me the stations to assemble all the components! So on Sunday I went for the full buffet, paying ofcourse the difference in price. The room was pretty big and the bed was comfortable with a good variety of pillows. Very good housekeeping services.
