Almost all rooms at the Scandic Ishavshotel are located at the very end of the quay and provide panoramic views of the surroundings. Extremely good location, fabulous and modern furnishing, clean and neat bathroom, and great breakfast in a fancy-looking restaurant! We were extremely pleased with how the hotel turned out, definitely better than what was seen. We got this perfect room with a big window overlooking the port so it was a spectacular view as well. We heard the bed was too soft and asked for a hard one and they gave us a board 😂 however when we tried, the board in fact felt too hard and we slept just fine without the board! Oh, and we got to see the aurora too! The hotel is near a vast ground and we were so happy we got to see aurora so vibrant in the clear sky just beside our hotel.

Most rooms feature harbour, mountain or cathedral views. I loved alomst everything about this hotel! It is great value for money. Clean, great location, excellent breakfast. The location is simply great. Just walking distance from the aurora tours which means when you arrive late in the night, you can just walk back. The hotel also responded timely to my late night message because I forgot to inform them we will be arriving back at 2AM from our aurora safari. The reception is manned 24 hours and the receptionist was very kind and helpful. In fact, the entire staff was just wonderful! I also used the Gym facility. It is a 3-4 minute walk from the hotel, but I was glad for this facility. What with the heavy snow, it was still great tobe able to get a workout in. The costs for the gym are not included in the booking but still great to have the opportunity to make use of the facility hassle free!

It was snowing so it was so picturesque. It was central to everything and also offered afternoon tea and dinner for all guests which was handy as it is very expensive to eat out in Norway.
