Amazing experience at Safari Desert Camp. Everything went smoothly and well. Superb staff. The property is large, clean. Dinner and breakfast was exceptional. It is the desert but has all amenities. It is about 30-45 mins drive from Bidiyya town on the desert.

Desert Wonders Camp is situated on Eastern Sands that stretches from Eastern Hajars to the Arabian Sea. Lit by lanterns, the camp offers Bedouin-style accommodation with tents. Great experience in the desert. The staff is very friendly, the food was excellent and abundant (I ate more there than anywhere else thusfar on my trip through Oman!), We spent two nights and lounged around and went hiking through the dunes on our full day. The decor in the tents made the whole experience feel very classy. We had the opportunity to meet the owner who has an ambitious plan to always be improving and adding value to the experience and also giving us interesting insights into life in the desert!

Fantastic, luxurious desert camp with easy and quick access if you have a 4x4 and lowered tire pressure. There is absolutely nothing to worry about when it comes to getting there – you drive smoothly over firm sand, almost like on rock. The rooms are larger than they appear in the photos, spotlessly clean and equipped with air conditioning. The bedding and towels are clean and white, clearly fresh for every guest. The bed is very comfortable, with wonderfully soft pillows and warm duvets – perfect for cold desert nights. The bathroom was very clean, with a proper shower cabin with doors and a full set of toiletries, just like in a good hotel. The food was absolutely delicious and served as a buffet. Dinner included local dishes, all very well seasoned and tasty. Breakfast was also buffet-style and excellent – the best shakshuka we had in Oman! Special thanks to the manager for preparing an extra portion of shakshuka especially for us. The entire camp staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Right next to the camp there is a huge sand dune, but thanks to a fixed rope it’s easy to climb. Stunning sunsets over the dunes make the experience truly unforgettable.

The Best Western Sur is located in the picturesque city of Sur, famous as an old fishing village and traditional manufacturer of dhows. Staff was absolutely amazing. Special shout out to Manish and team!

The Turtle Beach Resort offers an ultimate relaxation and comfortable rooms built in Traditional Omani Style overlooking the sea. It’s a LICENSED camp, which means they have a license from the Ministry of Tourism to run the camp and lease land from the government. The location is great - underneath a huge dune that you can climb and admire the views. The views from the dune and stunning especially at sunrise and sunset. It’s quite far from the towns at the edge of the sands and from other camps, which means it’s really quiet there - sometimes all you can hear is wind. The owner is very nice and hospitable, as are the staff. The food was great, with a lot of vegetarian options.

We weren't really sure what to expect going into the desert, we would have been happy just to have a comfy bed. This place absolutely exceeded our expectations: the staff was great, the buffets for breakfast and dinner we're fantastic, and the complimentary activities we're really appreciated (sunset drive up the dunes and a quick 15min camel ride). The lamb was insane.
