Set by a fortress from 1735, this waterfront hotel on Värmdö Island offers impressive views of Solöfjärden and the surrounding archipelago. A quiet location, but accessible by bus or ferry from Stockholm. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We went on their free fortress tour, and they gave us a lift to the ferry. There are lots of lovely places to admire the views, including the cruise ships going by.

Siggesta Gård is located in the countryside of Värmdö and offers a sun terrace, parking, bookable sauna and hot tub. WiFi are free for guests. Breakfast was delicious, the room was beautifully decorated, the bed was soooo soft and comfortable and the bathroom very modern and new! The reception staff were incredibly friendly. My husband and I had a blast playing 'fotballgolf', LOVED this so much!

Located in the harbour town of Öregrund, guests of Epokgården are only 100 metres from the sea. Very nice host, we got upgraded to an apartment because the hostel was in renovation. Very close to everything, new furniture, wifi working well, nothing to complain about :)

Located on the island of Grinda in Stockholm’s archipelago, this guest house is a 90-minute ferry ride to the city’s centre. I visited at the end of August, so it was the off season, not so many people. Food (lunch/dinner) and beer was great, service also. Beds comfy. Great trails for walks, good sauna and nice spots for a swim and amazing views. This was my first time visiting here so I was pretty excited about everything. Family owned I assume, old cozy maintained building and facilities. Grinda is a beautiful small island.

Situated in central Östhammar, Johanssons Gårdshotell offers free Wi-Fi and tastefully decorated rooms with a TV and private bathroom with shower. I loved the courtyard and how close it was to everything. The inn owner was also delightful.

Located next to the Vaxholm Ferry Terminal, this intimate hotel is situated at Vaxholm Marina in the Stockholm archipelago. Amazing location - on the main pier, but still quiet. Professional staff. Good choice for breakfast, even bubbles included.

The location of the Bed and Breakfast was absolutely sensational. Neither one of us was expecting such a beautiful locale with such fascinating history.
