The advice they gave us for seeing the wonderful ruins around this rustic area was spot on. It’s a really relaxing place, Sukhothai. We would definitely consider going back just for a quiet break amongst the ruins of this former city. I noticed that, amongst other things, there is a sign at the front of the City Resort which says “learning centre”. I presume they run educational retreats or something like that. But that said, it occurred to me that the couple running this property provide a master class in how to run a hospitality business. If anyone wants to know how to make guests feel at home just come here! Also, almost forgot to mention the breakfast. This really was a highlight. Lots of little treats, some from the local markets. And they even told us the Thai names for things - which we are still practising ;)
