Set in Hualien City, 1.8 km from Dongdamen Night Market, Angel Wings Inn features free WiFi access and free private parking. Everything. It’s beautifully decorated with a bit of geekiness. ;) The owner was extremely helpful with everything despite a bit of language barrier.

We really really liked everything. The place is beautiful. The staff was super helpful and friendly. The bed we had in room 101 was so comfortable.

Only 1.3 km from the city centre, 6 minutes' walk from Hualien Railway Station, Travel Mind offers accommodation in Hualien City. It’s not always the place itself that makes a trip worthwhile. It’s the people. Never met the person in charge of the place, but spoke to them over WhatsApp and they were more than helpful. Book an impromptu kayaking experience? they offered to check/book for me. Book a camping spot for the night AFTER leaving the property? Locals don’t pick up a call when they see a foreigner number. So they called on my behalf and booked for me. Problem’s communicating with the hiking company in Taroko ? They helped . It’s people like this that make the experience worthwhile.

Set in Hualien City, 10 minutes' walk from Hualien Railway Station, Aria 2 Home offers cosy guest rooms. The homestay has a sun terrace with views of the mountain. This was a wonderful place to stay with children. The owners were incredibly helpful. We would stay there again.

Also had free water (including sparkling if preferred) to fill up water bottles. Room was decorated very nicely.
