Shepherds Tree Game Reserve is a lodge concession, located on the south western portion of the Pilanesberg Game Reserve and 18 km away from Sun City.

The elegantly furnished rooms offer views of the reserve and come with en-suite bathroom. The suites have a lounge area. It’s a fantastic place!!! We stayed one night in the “luxury suite”. For us it was the perfect amount of time on safari ( 2 x 3.5 hours) but we could’ve stayed another night just to enjoy the facilities and the private pool!

Each luxury chalet has an open plan lounge with a fireplace, a fan and a private balcony. It comes equipped with a minibar and the private bathroom has a bath that overlooks the plains.

Trained and experienced field guides take guests out into the reserve in an open 4x4 vehicle twice a day including morning coffee and muffins and sundowner stops. A small library is available for those who would like to relax with a book. Beautiful bedrooms overlooking the watering hole. Giant bath tubs, huge beds, cosy fires. Delicious food and drink. Most amazing, kind staff.

Guests can relax by the main swimming pool or enjoy a meal from the Acacia Terrace Café. The nearby Splash Kingdom Water Park offers entertainment for the family and there is also a children's playground on site. Absolutely loved everything, a peaceful and tranquil getaway just 2 hours from Pretoria. The activities were great to keep the kids entertained and only 5 mins drive from Sun City.

Featuring a pool surrounded by lush vegetation, the Bakubung Bush Lodge is located in the Pilanesberg National Park. It offers a variety of massages, and has elegantly decorated rooms with free Wi-Fi.

Opening out onto a veranda with panoramic garden views, the elegant rooms at the Bakubung come with a flat-screen satellite TV. Private bathrooms come with a separate bath and shower. Very knowledgeable and friendly safari drivers. Be sure not to miss the Wednesday bush dinner

Located on the slopes of a volcano in the heart of Pilanesberg National Park, Kwa Maritane Lodge offers free WiFi and the reserve boasts two tennis courts and two swimming pools of which one features a water slide. Perfect for families, staff and safari guides were excellent. Wish we would have stayed longer.
