United StatesThis was my first experience with a ryokan and I was amazed. The care with which you are treated will spoil you. The food was exceptional. The in room dinner dining was lovely, particularly since you can gaze out at the serene garden between courses. The Onsen experience was very relaxing.

JapanThe food was to die for (literally), as we were served a kaiseki of different seasonal foods, including an assortment of pufferfish which was very, very delicious. The room was very spacious and tidy with great views of the mountains, sea, and local docks below. Yukata's are provided free of charge. This hotel was one of the most memorable highlights of our trip! We only stayed for a day, but we'll definitely be back to visit again. The staff were cordial and helpful, and the view of the starry night sky from the onsen was wonderful. Transport can be arranged to pick you up from the nearest bus stop, so don't let not having a car stop you from visiting.

The staff are lovely, the meals are wonderful, the onsen is just amazing with its sensational views. The room facilities may be a little dated but they in no way detract from the stay. It's a fabulous place to stay in Hagi.
