Very friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable room with lovely view of the river. Easy to get a taxi from the station in heavy rain on our arrival and enjoyed the walk to the station through the town to catch trains to our walks. Breakfast and dinner were very good and they cooked a special vegetarian dinner.

Our room in the new annex was lovely, clean and cosy.

I stayed as a mid-way point through Nakasendo. I have nothing but praise for this hotel. They picked me up at the station due to extremely heavy rain without me giving them prior notice which was appreciated. I would’ve frozen otherwise… 😂 The room is beautifully traditional but the highlight is definitely the outdoor spa sauna complex. Amazing!

The rooms were big and had everything for a comfortable stay. The onsen was small but nice. The view and surroundings were super pretty. We came late in the evening and every restaurant was closed. The receptionist offered to take as to a conbini after his turn was done, so nice🥹 ありがとう！
