Nice and well-kept traditional establishment. The best experience we had of all the 4 ryokans we stayed in during our trip. Full meals are a must. Meals were fabulous. The hosts and staff speak English and were very helpful throughout our stay. Even offered to dry our gear and shoes after our hike in the rain.

Wonderfully kind and helpful staff, we felt were treated like VIPs. Also the open air onsen was amazing and food was delicious. The rooms were very traditional, pretty and comfortable.

Amazing hotel for the price! The view to the kiso River was beautiful from my room. The onsen is also great.

Kiso is such a charming wonderful place and everyone is so friendly. I love going to local cake shops and bakeries then bringing a treat back to the ryokan to enjoy with some tea. The onsen is especially wonderful in the crisp winter air. There is a perfect amount to explore for a relaxing weekend like sake tasting across the street and at Nakanorisan, soba, lacquerware, a lovely temple garden. The list goes on. All with a bath and delicious breakfast and dinner ready for you at the ryokan. A great escape from the city.

Yugo the manager and all the staff where so helpful. Even picked us up directly from the supermarket. There is a free shuttle to the station back and forth. The hotel has an amazing onsan!!! We loved finishing our day in the hot water. Free coffee or tea 24/7. Very big room.

The rooms were big and had everything for a comfortable stay. The onsen was small but nice. The view and surroundings were super pretty. We came late in the evening and every restaurant was closed. The receptionist offered to take as to a conbini after his turn was done, so nice🥹 ありがとう！

Hisano and her husband were excellent hosts - we felt very well looked after and they did everything possible to make us feel very welcome. The food was exceptional and Hisano took the time to explain to us the local and seasonal ingredients used. We also had a lovely day hiking some of the Ontake Kodo trail nearby, and enjoyed using the onsen afterwards. We could not recommend this ryokan more.

We had an exceptional experience Futari Shizuka. The staff were very friendly and we had lovely Japanese ladies who personally showed us to our rooms and made tea for us, and offered local Japanese snacks. We had a lovely chat, albeit limited English from them. Dinner and breakfast were served in a private room, food and service were awesome! We had a birthday celebration and they prepared a lovely cake for us. We had such a wonderful stay that we are still reminiscing weeks after our trip.
