This ryokan is about as fancy as you can get. It is not in town and required a taxi or shuttle to get there; fortunately they provide a free shuttle but it's on a schedule. Because it's on a hill above the city, it's peaceful and the view is fantastic. The service was friendly and helpful and they spoke English. Signs and information were in English. The room rate included meals for which this ryokan is well known. The meals were exquisite, traditional food artistically prepared. We didn't try the public bath, but it looked clean and was empty. In the waiting area for the public bath, there were massage chairs and foot massage machines that were wonderful after a day of walking around the city. The room had a soaking tub we enjoyed. We felt pampered.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay with the following highlights. From meeting us in the car park and parking our car for us to helping with the luggage to both rooms, the staff were all amazing and friendly. The rooms were excellent and we had an amazing view from our bigger family room. The Onsen was large and a spectacular view. The dinner option at the buffet was great value. Overall, if we were to visit again, we would choose the same rooms and stay for longer. A big thank you to the assistant in the shop who waited patiently for my partner to bring our passports after doing a random shop for gifts. 10 out of 10 for this amazing place in Nagasaki.

The room was great - big space for futons, a separate area for sitting and good access to our own bathroom toilet.. It was very quiet. It was a good walk from the railway station that helped get a feel for Nagasaki. From the ryokan it was easy walking to all the sights

With beautiful city views from its best rooms and a top floor onsen, this hotel has a magical setting to relax and enjoy hot spring life in Nagasaki. The buffet dinners and breakfasts are impressive, with quality choices in a well-run restaurant. We also appreciated a voucher for drinks. A great experience, easy to travel to and from the city centre using the free shuttle bus.
