All the meals were outstanding! Beautifully presented and delicious. Almost too beautiful to eat! The houses are one-of-a-kind and the setting is idyllic. Staff wonderfully kind and provided amazing help, including transfers to station which was so helpful. A highlight of our trip. Will tell all my friends to come! 😁

Absolutely wonderful place with a great Onsen infrastructure. Breakfast was fantastic. I feel really sorry we didn’t have dinner there, especially as we were having a hard time finding a place to eat that wasn’t already fully booked. But I have to add that we traveled during high season, so that certainly didn’t play in our favor.

A perfect ryokan, it is everything you want from the rooms, to the onsen with a view on the waterfall, to the excellent dinner, breakfast and the good service by the hosts. It is also a good beginning if you want to travel through the Kiso valley. I would recommend arriving early (16:00-17:00) to

Lovely staff and gorgeous, typically Japanese hotel with wonderful views and atmosphere. We didn't eat but we should have as the dining looked amazing when we walked past! One of the nicest onsens I've had in a long time (and I've had many!).

We had a fabulous time staying here. The husband and wife who ran the guest house were very friendly and helpful. The guest house was beautiful and so too was the food. We spent two nights there and could not have been happier. The town of Iwamura is very interesting and very peaceful. I highly recommend.

Amazing typical Japanese ryokan but very modern and luxurious. Amenities were great especially the onsen (natural bath) with an outside one very great. Food buffet was also very premium for diner and breakfast. Easy to access by bus or car, they also organize shuttle bus. Really recommend.

Nice and comfortable Ryokan. Common showers (locked with a code for ladies) and toilets are very clean and convenient. The common area downstairs with free tea and coffee is spacious and ideal for groups of friends who want to hang out before heading back to their rooms. We enjoyed the tatami room with comfy futons.

Located in the middle of Magome, we stayed in an old traditional Japanese inn. The room was cosy with tatami mats and foldable beds. Our room had an on-Suite toilet. The views were nice. Japanese dinner and breakfast were included and delicious. Already an experience in its own. There was an onsen bath which was nice (it was organised with a time slot for privacy). You could have normal showers in the morning too. The staff were lovely. Everything was well organised.
