Japanese style is the leading word, very nice building and larges traditional rooms, tatami, futon, kimonos. At the last floor traditional onsen. Very nice first expericence in context as renowned thermal place.

We stayed here to experience this amazing onsen town, to learn more about Japanese culture & to soak in the steaming mineral waters. We chose a traditional room with a futon bed (shikibuton) with makura, sleeping on the floor and embracing the opportunity to lounge in a yukata (cotton kimono) & of course, use the Grand Bath, which unlike the other hotels, was located onsite.

Very beautiful ryokan. Wonderful onsen. Our tatami room had a private toilet and washbasin and the room was very spacious. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. Front of house is very kind and helpful, they waited for us on the side of the road to bring us in. The receptionist also recommended a great soba restaurant for lunch.

Right next to Hell Valley. Good view of Noboribetsu. Pretty hotel interior with artwork on display. Great for onsen aficionados with enormous grand bath and range of onsen options. Comfy futon beds, and the Japanese style room was elegant in design if a bit tired. Includes an indoor pool for families to swim together or those who prefer to wear swimsuits - swimsuit hire available. Liked the hot spring drinking station to taste the waters. Good on-site giftshop.

At first sight it seems gigantic and kitsch, but in the end not at all! The rooms are very nice and spacious, in real ryokan Japanese style! The foutons are comfortable and all sizes yukata are at guests’ disposal! The onsen is amazing, many different pools inside and outside… and considering the dimensions of the hotel, not crowded at all!! The breakfast was nice, mostly savoury though!

Very large property, Japanese style rooms with futons were large and comfy and facilities (yukatas etc) very good. In the evening staff will come and make the futon beds and leave nice snacks. Onsen pools were fabulous, indoor and outdoor. Many different types of pools sulphur etc. Large pools too. Enjoyed the buffet breakfast and the kaiseki dinner too. Large selection at breakfast.

It is a solid ryokan. I have stayed in several others throughout Japan and this one is a solid middle class one. The staff is making an effort and the futon beds were comfortable. I also liked that they use 100% hot spring water in the onsen
