Hotel staff were very accommodating and kind! My friend and I were picked up from the Tanzan shrine station where we were awaited with a driver. When we had to go home they also drove us to the station for free. The price for our room was very low and it was really clean and nice. We had a nice view of the mountains and the nature!

Everything was just perfect when we stayed here! When we arrived at the hotel, we were offered hot towels and lemon and honey tea. A worker took our luggage and brought it to our room. Our room was super spacious and comfortable, and there was even free beer and water in the fridge. The small outdoor bathtub was perfect and easy to use. The upstairs Onsen was small, but we were the only ones there, so it wasn't a problem for us. The kaiseki dinner and breakfast were perfectly made and delicious. It was fun to taste so many different dishes and flavors that we otherwise wouldn't have tasted. The whole experience of staying here was just perfect and definitely a highlight of our entire Japan trip. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this place to everyone who wants to experience a real ryokan experience

exceptionally large & private space -- ie, the whole 2nd floor -- in a relatively simple & authentic ryokan ... with ample parking, laundry facilities & a quite tasty breakfast to boot. the sweet hostess (w/good english) is extremely accommodating & very kindly went out of her way to send my forgotten shoes on to one of our next hotels. a totally comfortable place to stay in a quiet neighborhood

everything was over the top! the place is beautiful, we stayed in the new rooms which the design is another league, keeping the Japanese style, with mountains views. The meal service was the best experience I had in Japan, also traditional. The staff is hyper kind. Is the best Ryokan experience I had. Definitely will be back!

In the middle of Nara's country park, find a piece of heaven, disconnect from the busy world and enjoy a unique Ryokan experience. Don't expect any fancy facilites but reconnect with the nature and silence. All the staff are really nice and the food is excellent. a once in a lifetime experience, to be repeated.

What an experience, staying at Mikasa is my version of heaven. The staff were sweet, the breakfast and dinner were so enjoyable, 8-courses of a tasting menu meant that every night all our relatives were jealous of the pictures we were sending home. Our food preferences were adjusted for, and the bar at the end of the night was to look out over the city light. 4 nights wasn’t enough the enjoy this experiment. Public bath was great, and my mum really liked talking to yuki now!

The location is perfect, just a few minutes walk to the temples, deer parks or the wonderful shopping centre. The room was clean and the bed exceptional, haven't slept this good during the whole trip, and it was really a convenience to have a small fridge in the room. The owner was wonderful to us from the first second with a bright smile, making sure we had everything we needed and even helped us up with bags due to us being at the highest floor. Make sure to enjoy the downstairs bath, that was the perfect end of our days during the stay!

This place is old but charming and in a good location. The people who run it are friendly but no English is spoken. The onsen is actually really big and nice.

The ryokan was very close to the JR Miwa train station. The room was spacious. The room had a small toilet attached to it. The family bathroom was big and clean. The owner, Masahiro Uda San, maintained the internal garden tastefully. It was a pleasure to look at the garden through the viewing windows. Masahiro Uda San gave me very useful information about the Miwa Shrine and hiking the amanobe-no-michi Trail. It was a pleasant stay.
