The property is absolutely gorgeous, we had the traditional Japanese room which was spacious, clean and very beautiful. The host greeted us, explained everything in great detail, took some pictures and then we were invited to a tea ceremony that was hosted by his mother. I would definitely book the room again - probably the best experience in our Japan trip.

I have no words to fully describe the amazing experience I had. From the check-in till the checkout all the employees where amazing into all aspects, letting everything prepared beforehand for the check-in, with the room selected, clear instructions about the facilities, the tour in the hotel and showing how to use the installation, the welcome hand made message with Origamis in the room, the amazing hotel Onsen (which for me was even better than the ones around the city), kimono selection and the support to understand how to use that, the delicious food that the waiter had an special attention and patience to tech me how to eat king crab... It was more than a stay as I said it was a full experience that I will sure experience again in the future :) thanks to all the team for the dedication, sympathy and care that you provided into all the steps of this experience:)

We stayed two nights and everything was amazing! From the first step we took into the ryokan, I felt like a VIP. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The food was more than excellent! We also really loved that we were able to use the private baths. You can easily walk to all the onsens, shops and even the ropeway up to Mt. Daishi. We totally recommend :) This was definitely one of the Highlights of our trip!!

The dinner orepared by on site chef is a flavor adventure not to be missed! Everyone from chef to staff are talented and communicate well in English. They provided complimentary yukata and sandles to explore all of the local onsen. Also complimentary were passes to the onsen and a discounted pass to the ropeway leading up the mountain with a Michelin star view. The traditional wood architecture of the rooms were warm and comfortable. I would stay here again, and recommend it to anyone.

Everything about the stay was perfect. From the reception to our room attendant - everyone was overly polite and kind. The room was amazing (with private onsen) - very spacious, traditional style and an amazing view. The private onsen experience is well worth the money and I can only recommend it. Kaiseki dinner was private in our room - the food was fresh, interesting and tasty. Breakfast was a buffet, there was both japanese and western style breakfast - both were delicious. Overall, visiting an onsen town and trying traditional kaiseki dinner is an amazing experience that everyone visiting Japan has to experience and the Nishimuraya Hotel in Kinosaki onsen is a great place to do that.

Amazing experience, we really had a great time. Being european, we were quite unknowledgeable about this part of japanese culture, but this wasn't a problem, as the staff were very kind and willing to explain things to us (even without spoken words on some occasions). The dining was unforgettable (although I must say, if you are not used to japanese food and/or seafood, I recommend that you keep an open mind and a willingness to try something new, as many of the dishes were quite different than what you may be used to). Everything was really tasty though, and by far most of the dishes suited our palates really well! Both the on-site onsen and public onsen in the town were stellar. Location is a bit further from town (900 meters), but the staff are always ready to drive you and pick you up, so no issue at all. They also have e-bikes so you can take a ride up to the coast (takes about 10 minutes on the bike).

For our first time in a ryokan it was a great surprise and experience. The room was the good size for 4 people and we enjoyed the balcony with the view to the town's main street and the river. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and takes great care to explain the different activities to do in the ryokan and in the town. We had an amazing time using our yukatas and hopping from one onsen to another, and we also very happy with the meals that were prepared at the ryokan - the dinner was definitely the best we had in all our stay.

The rental yukatas and hantens were the most stylish and unique compared to what guests at other ryokans were wearing. Location is excellent, close to train station and main street and onsens. Staff gave us an onsen pass for the 7 onsens in town. We also got a private booking at the bath in house. Staff provided an orientation to town and also provided excellent hospitality, including amazing food service. Rooms were traditional and a little old but comfortable and the bathroom had a Toto.

Lovely authentic ryokan in hot spring town. The owner is very welcoming and hospitable. The ryokan is comfortable for a big family and the private onsen is great. Perfectly located in the centre of town to walk to all the public onsens with one being next door. Meals were huge and well prepared. Staff very friendly and helpful, especially for helping with yakata and kimono dressing. A must place to visit, we will definitely be coming back here to stay again.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and spoke good English. Dinner and breakfast was served in our room and each item described to us as they were laid out. Our futons were laid out and packed away by staff. The whole ryokan was kept immaculate and we heard no noise at all. Geta, yukata, umbrellas and baskets were provided for going to and from onsens. An onsen pass was also provided from check in to 3pm on the day of check out. We were allowed to keep our towels until this point and our luggage was held after check out.

It’s a stunning traditional style Ryokan with tatami floors in the bedrooms. Having the option to have a bed or a futon is nice, although I think a futon is actually comfier! Only 2 minutes from the train station and a stones throw from great coffee shops, restaurants and supermarkets. They allow you to book the private onsen for just under an hour, which allows mixed sex couples to enjoy it together, unlike the public onsens.
