What can I say about this magical mountain place that paints the right picture? It is very difficult to explain and this wasn't even during sakura season... First of all, I definitely had the best room by luck and an incredible view of the forest. This meant I was meeting an animal every day, just through my window. I saw a deer mum and her baby, briefly a tanuki and twice I saw a musasabi. Even if you don't see them, you will definitely hear the musasabi! As for the place itself, the room is very carefully decorated and well kept as is the whole property. I could've genuinely stayed inside the whole time, but the nature is a must. There are incredibly tall trees and a very charming street with restaurants and shops as well as the temple and more, but you need to walk uphill to it if you don't have a car. The host may be able to drive you as he is very welcoming and I must not forget to mention, the amazing food! Be ready to eat a lot and experience a variety of impressive flavours. Bonus: you can enjoy a calm garden if you don't want to go on adventures and there is a cute sleepy shiba inu mascot called Tetsu. I genuinely can't emphasise enough how much I enjoyed this place and area. It was a treat for myself, but it truly surprised me. Thank you to the whole team for making it so comfortable, this was especially appreciated as a solo traveller. Can't wait to be back, maybe with sakura blooming :)

This is the best place I have ever stayed. I can't recommend it enough. Staff are super helpful, onsen amazing with a view, and big room! The food is first class. It's is like a Michelin restaurant and a really amazing hotel at once. If you ever get the opportunity, I would recommend yukawaya to anyone. Will definently tell friends and family back home. Perhaps they will go to Japan to experience Yoshino and Yukawaya

This is a fabulous old temple building with traditional rooms, kind, considerate hosts, beautifully prepared food that catered for vegetarians for 3 days in beautiful surroundings. Half board is not cheap but we don’t begrudge a penny. Such lovely people.

It's a wonderfully charming hotel in the middle of apparent nowhere - i.e. precisely what we were searching for. It isn't really nowhere as there's a ton of historical and natural features nearby but it is still far from the hustle and bustle. It's very peaceful. The staff were very nice and helpful without being overbearing. We were picked up at the station (Sakurai) and after our stay we were shuttled back there. The staff has varying levels of English but it didn't hinder our stay at the slightest - communication was great and they even made to sure to translate some handouts for meals into our native Polish which was a charming gesture. The meals themselves were delicious (caution: the wonderful multi-course dinner has to be ordered in advance!) and served very nicely. Yes, they are pricey but it reflects their quality. The rooms were traditional, with tatami etc and a great view on the temple on the mountainside opposite the hotel. There's also a hot bath and we loved it. If we ever get the possibility of coming back to Japan, we would love to revisit this hotel.

It was wonderful place to stay. 1. Food was very good and served on beautifully chosen plates. Very diverse and interesting choice of dishes. For second day we had another set of food. Especially good was special sake (you will need to order it additionally), it was very tasty and easy to drink. In nearby shop there is also local mochi with mugwort - they was very good and worth to try at least once. 2. Room was very spacious with intricate design made from local wood and bathtub on balcony felt as it was our personal open air onsen really, with view on the forest and river. Also yukata and haori was included and it was perfect way to experience food, make some photos and enjoy our stay. It goes without saying that room was very clean and beds was very comfortable. 3. Place itself is very quiet and nice. Village is very near to Dorogawa onsen village but much calmer and not crowded by tourists. It also has great trail for hiking which goes trough beautiful falls to Dorogawa. There are 2 suspension bridges there with great view on river. At night there are plenty of stars and you can see wild deers. 4. Everyone was really hospitable, helpful and we had no trouble without knowing any Japanese.

The ryokan was very close to the JR Miwa train station. The room was spacious. The room had a small toilet attached to it. The family bathroom was big and clean. The owner, Masahiro Uda San, maintained the internal garden tastefully. It was a pleasure to look at the garden through the viewing windows. Masahiro Uda San gave me very useful information about the Miwa Shrine and hiking the amanobe-no-michi Trail. It was a pleasant stay.

Great location with a short hike up the hill taking you to Yoshino's main street.. The staff/owners were very friendly and helpful and the food was great. The onsen was also nice, if possibly a bit small if more people had been there. It was perfect for us though as they were not busy.

The owner and staff are very kind and caring. The woman who serves the meals was great and took time to help us understand what all the varieties of food were. It is a great traditional japanese inn experience with a nice onsen and good quality meals. The location has great views as well, it would be excellent during cherry blossom season.
