This is a traditional Japanese ryokan with public baths (gender separated). Dinner and breakfast are amazing and plentiful, with locally sourced organic produce (even coffee!). Our room (Japanese room with private toilet) was to the left of the entrance. It was very spacious. The heater worked very well as autumn night was a bit damp and cold. The beds are futons on wood bed frames on tatami, and they are super comfortable. As I have a whole-leg tattoo which is usually not permitted in the public baths, I notified Ranko in advance, and she reserved the private bath for us. The private bath was a very beautiful blue ceramic bath filled with warm (I don’t think it’s very hot) healing hot spring water from the area. Ranko’s warm personality really made the stay memorable. Be sure to ask her for recommendations of the areas. She is a well of knowledge of the area!

Great staff, helpful and polite. Spacious room and clean. Welcome drink is a nice thought.

Koganezaki Furofushi Onsen has sea views, free WiFi and free private parking, situated in Fukaura, a few steps from Furofushi Onsen. This 3-star ryokan features a spa experience, with its sauna and hot spring bath. The accommodation offers a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage for guests. The onsen very beautiful especially outdoor. staff very friendly, the room face the ocean view, nice and clean. The food very delicious, we got a buffet line during our stay. We’re got to the hotel early because of train schedule, they let us check in early that the nice of them. If I have a chance to comeback I will stay here again.

Hot and cold water was provided in the room for drinking. You can buy dinner downstairs, the owner couple will prepare it for you.

This 2-star ryokan provides a spa experience, with its hot spring bath and public bath. The property offers allergy-free units and is located 11 km from Gappo Park. Very good onsen, comfortable large rooms and close to the station to get out and about exploring Aomori

Located at the foot of Mount Hakkoda, Hotel Jogakura provides mountain resort accommodation boasting natural hot spring baths, saunas and gorgeous Japanese meals. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, and ski equipment rentals can be arranged. 3rd time in Hakkoda and the previous 2 had been at the hotel close to the Ropeway. Jogakura is far superior and I would stay here again in a flash. We were upgraded from a twin to a superior twin on arrival. The buffet breakfast was amazing and the hotel guiding over the back with pick up was fantastic value.

Only a 2-minute walk from JR Aomori Train Station, Iroha Ryokan offers simple Japanese-style rooms with a flat-screen TV. Japanese Yukata robes are provided for all guests and free parking is available. It’s a 5 minutes walk from the main station to the small locally owned inn. The single room with the tatami mats has more than enough space for a solo traveller, and there is hot water provided every day along with light refreshments. The owner is also courteous and nice. Overall I love the homely atmosphere this accommodation has. They didn’t offer meal service but they were very happy to recommend great restaurants around.

Situated in Hirosaki in the Aomori region, with Hirosaki Castle nearby, Kobori Ryokan features accommodation with access to a public bath. Featuring free private parking, the 3-star ryokan is 37 km from Sannai-Maruyama site. The ryokan has family rooms. Extremely clean traditional ryokan. Almost no english spoken, but this makes the experience even better. Excellent location for visiting Hirosaki castle.
