Mieko-san and her husband were incredibly kind and welcoming. Mieko-san even hosted a small workshop where we made souvenirs together and she let me try on some of her beautiful kimonos. They were eager to share their knowledge of Japanese culture, especially unique aspects of life in Tako-machi. The ryokan itself is cozy and makes you feel at home. It was clean, comfortable, and full of character. We would come back to this ryokan for the owners alone, but the town also has its charm - letting us experience authentic japanese everyday life on the country side. Our stay in Tako-machi and Masugataya Ryokan was truly unforgettable<3

Just in front of the scenic Naritasan Shinsho-ji Temple, Wakamatsu Honten is a charming local property featuring large public baths and non-smoking Japanese-style rooms with free WiFi. Lovely staff, immaculate rooms, and delicious food. This is my first time staying in a Ryokan, and I felt very welcomed by the staff! I felt like a guest in a 5 star hotel, that's how quality the service was. Immediately upon check in, the staff informed me they could keep my luggage after checkout in the morning, if I wanted to do some sightseeing. The Ryokan is next to an amazing temple, so this was a very kind gesture, as I had planned to explore the temple before flying home. The staff also immediately lent me an umbrella, as it was raining outside. The room was very large, with a warm thermos and tea awaiting me when I arrived. It was spotless and in the traditional Japanese style, looking exactly like the photos. The dinner which I had prepaid with the room, was delicious, and full of seasonal Japanese dishes and ingredients. It was the best meal I had on my trip. The public bath was clean and a perfect temperature, with a selection of creams and lotions to use once you had finished bathing. This was an amazing place to stay for my last night in Japan. If I ever fly out from Narita airport again, I will definitely look to stay here another night.

The ocean view, the size of the room, the private bath, delicious dinner/ breakfast. The free beer/ ice cream was very nice. The comfortable beds were very pleasant.

We had a great stay at this ryokan with an onsen in the room. The place is a bit off but the view over Tokyo Bay and the accommodation overall was well worth it. We had a one night stay to recharge a bit before jeading to Tokyo for the last leg of the vacation. The syaff was kind and helpful. We did not have dinner here but the breakfast was really good. The communication with the hotel before our stay was also good where the asked for ellergies and some more information ahead of our stay.

This was the absolute best experience I’ve ever had staying in a place other than my home. It was comfortable and I felt very taken care of. The ultimate relaxing experience. Thank you so much!

The room's window faces the Pacific Ocean and the scenery is indescribable. The hotel's breakfast is great and delicious. The location is within walking distance from the train station and convenience stores. . Especially the hotel staff, very friendly and helpful.

I stayed in both the smaller unit and the larger suites. For the money we liked the larger suite. Staff was great! It had coin operated laundry. There is a bar close by called Crazy Bar that is great. Close to train station.

The staff were amazing and helped me with an anniversary present. So kind and helpful. The onsen on the roof were stunning!

Location beautiful near temple and ocean. Staff was very nice. Within walking distance from station. Perfect hotel for couples. It’s not super modern or high-tech but has a charming atmosphere.
