Very cozy, not crowded , very nice lake view even though could not see Mt. fuji from the room. Very close to the ropeway and port of ferry. We stayed as a group of seven and everything was wonderful from start to finish. The kaiseki dinner course and breakfast were truly exceptional experiences — absolutely something everyone should try at least once. The hotel staff were incredibly kind and attentive, and the level of service was top-notch. I also noticed that assistance was available in several different languages, which was very impressive. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the hotel also has an onsen, which was perfect for relaxing after a long day. I highly recommend this place and can’t wait to come back!

Just 250 metres from Zenko-ji Temple, Matsuya Ryokan offers simple Japanese rooms with tatami-mat floors, a green-tea maker and an attached Western bathroom. The hotel features public baths. Wonderful place, excellent position (within the temple area). The owners are extremely kind and helpful. Very good breakfast. You have the impression to travel back in time.

The building is historical, and the rooms are beautiful. The breakfast is a perfect Japanese experience. The staff are friendly, and have plenty of English to give useful advice.

It was beautiful, very clean and in a great location just a short walk from the historic centre of Takayama. The staff were incredibly friendly and kind, and made us feel so at home. I can’t recommend it enough!

Luxurious ryokan Fuji Onsenji Yumedono is located just 500 metres from Lake Kawaguchiko. Staff, location and vibe were amazing. Highly recommend. A really layed back set up, but with all the comforts you need. Suggest stopping to get a fresh lobster and request the BBQ from the staff, was so good.
