Japanese-style rooms feature a tatami (woven mat) floor and shoji sliding paper screens. Some rooms offer tranquil views of the Seto Inland Sea. The view was amazing, the dinner was very varied and tasty, it had around 10 different small dishes with different types of Japanese foods. We also went to onsen that was clean and enjoyable. The shuttle bus was very convenient - hotel offering an evening ride to see the Torii gate lighten up and the we went there again in the morning after checking out and once we were done sightseeing hotel delivered our luggage to the port and we went back to mainland.

Combining modern design with a homely decor, Kikunoya Hotel offers both Western and Japanese-style rooms. Entertainment options include cable channels and a DVD player. Certain rooms include an en suite bathroom. Toiletries and slippers are provided for in the private and shared bathroom. This was our favorite hotel in Japan! We stayed only one night to get to see the island of Miyajima a bit more, and staying here was such a nice experience. In particular, the dinner at the hotel was so special and delicious! You need to message them to make the reservation some days in advance, but they were always very responsive. The facilities of the hotel were really great: the public baths, the rooftop terrace, the footbath café. Finally, the staff were all incredibly nice and helpful. I wholeheartedly recommend staying here.

Set in Yasugi, 26 km from Mizuki Shigeru Road, Shokinkan offers rooms with air conditioning and free WiFi. The property is situated 26 km from Lake Shinji, 27 km from Lafcadio Hearn Memorial Museum and 24 km from Matsue Station. Shimane　Art　Museum is 26 km from the ryokan. Great dinner service with lots of food. Vegetarian but was superb with alot of effort put into it. Breakfast was non-vegetarian and tasty. Service was good. As expected of a ryokan so don’t expect 5 star hotel quality but definitely comfortable and clean.

Great location. Easy walk from the ferry and to the sites of Myajima island.

Itsukushimahigashimonzen Kikugawa, a property with a shared lounge, is located in Miyajima, 2.3 km from Tsutsumigaura Beach, 500 metres from Five Storey Pagoda, as well as 700 metres from Itsukushima Shrine. This recently renovated ryokan is located 1.8 km from Shoin Shrine and 3.2 km from Hagi Station. The ryokan features family rooms. Very beautiful ryokan near the Hagi Castle Town with free parking. We booked a Japanese-style corner room for 3 nights and had a large garden to ourselves. The garden in the common area is also very beautiful esp at night. We opted for half board our entire stay and were very impressed with the food! The menu was different every time and we found ourselves anticipating what they’ll serve for the next meal. One of the meals they served was an all-puffer fish meal, which is arguably one of the best and most unforgettable meals of my life. The staff were also very warm and helpful up until the very moment we left. Definitely worth making the trip to Hagi just to stay here.
