Situated in Jozankei, 27 km from Sapporo Station, Jozankei Onsen Yurakusoan features accommodation with a spa and wellness centre, free private parking, an open-air bath and a shared lounge. The accommodation provides a 24-hour front desk, a lift and luggage storage for guests. The room was clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated. The staff were friendly, helpful, and could communicate in basic English. There were accessible and detailed instructions for the public, private, and in-room Onsen. The 4 private outdoor Onsen (first come first serve) were lovely and peaceful. The kaiseki dinner and breakfast were delicious and filling. There are complimentary frozen snacks in the lounge area. Free shuttle bus service available upon request with the ryokan. We were fortunate to be added to the list last minute (the day before departure) from Jozankei to Sapporo, but would recommend contacting the Ryokan in advance to reserve. The public buses between Sapporo and Jozankei (e.g. 8J and 7J) can get quite crowded, which can make traveling with luggage challenging.

Everything was amazing! Staff, room, scenery/view… Wish we had had more time. Definitely recommend.

What can I say.... this is by far the most extreme hotel I've stayed in. The service was impeccable. The moment you arrive in your car they flag you down and check you in right by the hotel. Then they proceed to unload all your luggage and carry them in for you. The hotel was mostly locals and they came to only stay for a night or two at most so they usually only came with 1 suitcase, but we arrived with 8. The staff mobilised like a well organised squad and each staff came to carry each of our bags individually. When you enter the hotel for the first time you're greeted by 6-8 staff in beautiful yukatas bowing and welcoming you. You take your shoes off at the entrance and they store it for you til you want to leave again. I literally couldn't fault anything. The food was amazing, we topped up money for whatever we could. Had teppenyaki on the first night and kaiseki on the second. The rooms are immaculate, very very very spacious and the onsen was very beautiful. You can just wake up everyday and watch the sunrise in your private balcony or onsen.

An Asian breakfast is available at the ryokan. There is a coffee shop, bar and lounge. The ryokan is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in. Both breakfast and dinner were absolutely fantastic. The master chef, Mr, Ito was exceptional. I have traveled several countries with well-known gastronomy including France one month ago and Italy 2 weeks ago. Food at Chalet Ivy was by far the best. It should be on the Michelin star restaurant list.

Set 28 km from Sapporo Station, Kuriya Suizan offers 5-star accommodation in Jozankei and features an open-air bath, a garden and a bar. This ryokan offers free private parking and a 24-hour front desk. The ryokan has a hot spring bath and a lift. This was the best onsen experience I've ever had. Room was amazing with a sauna and onsen actually in the room. However, it was the staff and the chef that made the stay the best ever! They took into consideration an allergy my son had to certain food type and went above and beyond to accommodate. They were all wonderful.

Excellent dinner and breakfast with an absolutely stunning view over the lake. Our flight was delayed and the staff waited and additional 4 hours to serve us our dinner!

Our stay was wonderful. The stay was the best. They were super kind and we loved having small (Japanese) conversations with them. Furthermore, we especially loved the futon beds, the lovely onsen facilities, the food, and the location. It was situated close by Jigoku Dani and hiking routes.

Ikoino Yuyado Iroha is just a 7-minute walk from Niseko Annupuri Ski Resort. Guests can soak in the hot spring baths or connect to the free WiFi. JR Niseko Train Station is located a 10-minute taxi ride away. We like how close it is to the slopes, the staffs are super nice, and the place is clean.
