Kinosaki Onsen, Toyooka
A recently renovated ryokan in Toyooka and within 2.8 km of Kinumaki Shrine, Kobayashiya -Kinosaki Onsen- features a garden, comfortable allergy-free rooms and free WiFi. The 4-star ryokan has garden views and is 4.2 km from Seto Shrine. The ryokan offers a hot spring bath and a housekeeping service. Located right beside the river in the center of Kinosaki Onsen, this beautiful hotel combines the traditional style of Japanese ryokans with modern design elements, creating a unique atmosphere. Our room was spacious, well equipped and made us feel welcome immediately. While the famous public onsens of Kinosaki are just around the corner due to the central location of Kobayashiya, the three private onsen rooms inside the ryokan present an ideal opportunity to start the day in a relaxing fashion or simply enjoy some privacy in between. The Kaiseki (dinner menu) and breakfast were included in our stay and we would highly recommend adding the option. The dishes were carefully prepared with fresh, local ingredients (especially the fish and seafood) and present the perfect opportunity to experience and savor traditional, Japanese cuisine. It was definitely a highlight of our trip to Japan. We would especially like to highlight the service provided during our stay. From the moment you arrive, everything is being taken care of, from providing the complimentary Yukatas and assisting you in dressing appropriately, taking the time to introduce and explain to you the dinner and breakfast menus, explaining everything about Kinosaki and its onsen culture or simply taking care of your room. You can simply relax and enjoy yourself.

Free private parking is also available on site. The entire property is non-smoking, while guests can smoke in the designated smoking area. Amazing hotel. Not a cheap one, but it is definitelly worth the money. We definitelly recommend to take a room with a view, seeing mountains in the morning was wonderful. We didn't have a ryokan-type room but were still amazed by the quiality of everything - cleanliness, design, etc. Our room had a capsule coffee machine, a set for drinking tea, hair brushes, hair pins and other small things that added a pinch of comfort to our stay. The hotel also provides guests with Japanese-style clothing: a set of a "shirt" and pants, and a yukata. You can walk in it everywhere in the hotel which was very nice. The hotel has public onsens on two floors, both have open-air baths. The staff is very understanding and would help with the rules of visiting. You can also book private onsens that turned out to be not very expensive. Sometimes the hotel holds special events. We managed to visit stargazing and saw Jupiter through a telescope while eating sweet potatos! The hotel provides a bus that regularly travels through the Arima village. You can also call the hotel to pick you up. The village itself is very beautiful. There is a ropeway to the nearby mountain. I heard you can also hike to the summit.

For our first time in a ryokan it was a great surprise and experience. The room was the good size for 4 people and we enjoyed the balcony with the view to the town's main street and the river. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and takes great care to explain the different activities to do in the ryokan and in the town. We had an amazing time using our yukatas and hopping from one onsen to another, and we also very happy with the meals that were prepared at the ryokan - the dinner was definitely the best we had in all our stay.
State of the art hospitality and professional service from the staff! The traditional Japanese ryokan style room was truly stunning and a pleasure to experience. Yukata set is also provided by the hotel which can be used while exploring the Onsen Town.
Wonderful Ryokan experience in Kinosaki Onsen. The Japanese breakfasts and suppers were both awesome. The Ryokan provides yukatas in which you can walk around town to the onsens - really great!
The ryokan's onsen was amazing, the staff was very welcoming and helpful, everything was provided and explained to us (yukatas, amenities, tea, crackers...). Location was also great, right next to bus station.
While not a typical ryokan, the location and price are very nice for Kinosaki. The room is very barebones, but the bed itself is comfy. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is nice. The room is quiet, and tucked away from the cafe / street below. You can rent a yukata for free, and they supply you with a rental towel and hand towel for the onsens. If you are planning on just going to any number of the seven public onsens, this is an affordable choice,
The Japanese style room was spacious and well equipped. The check-in was super easy, and the staff were informative and friendly. The location is in the heart of Arima Onsen. Dressed in your yukata, winter jacket, and clogs (graciously supplied by the hotel), you are a few steps away from the well-known Kin no Yu Onsen and foot bath. The futons were super comfortable, too, giving you a restful nights sleep.
10 min walk from the station, this is a fabulous ryokan. The staff is really nice and accommodating, and the room is very traditional but still functional. There is a yukata and wooden shoes if you want to try them. The private baths are definitely a must, and the onsen pass provided by the staff is perfect to visit the 7 onsens of the town. You'll get a really copious japanese style breakfast and dinner.
It’s a stunning traditional style Ryokan with tatami floors in the bedrooms. Having the option to have a bed or a futon is nice, although I think a futon is actually comfier! Only 2 minutes from the train station and a stones throw from great coffee shops, restaurants and supermarkets. They allow you to book the private onsen for just under an hour, which allows mixed sex couples to enjoy it together, unlike the public onsens.
Gorgeous ryokan with good onsens. It was my first traditional Japanese hotel and onsen, so I was very impressed by hospitality, kaiseki dinner, the view, the room with tatami, yukata and hot springs. Totally recommend it!
