Parking in front, wifi working really well, owner welcoming us and explaining everything. The breakfast nearby was awesome (also owned by the same person). The place was really clean, modern and minimalistic and very quiet.

At the ryokan, the units are fitted with bed linen and towels. Our stay at Machi No Odoriba was simply perfect: from the moment they welcomed and checked us in to the moment we had to say goodbye. The highlight of this place is the staff. I will always remember the people I met here. They took the time to explain everything we needed to know and more about our room, the dishes we ate, the plates our food was served on and the main attractions to visit. They were always ready to answer every request and need for help. Their kindness was incomparable. But it was not just them. The room was beautiful: big and comfortable, with its own onsen. And the food was delicious: hands-down the best dinner and the best breakfast I had during my stay in Japan. Thank you for this authentic and fascinating experience!

Guests at the ryokan can enjoy an Asian breakfast. At Shirasagiyu Tawaraya, the traditional restaurant is open for dinner and serves Japanese cuisine. The ryokan is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in. The facilities were so perfectly clean and well well maintained and well equipped, especially the Onsen We stayed in a traditional Japanese room and loved it, including the futons to sleep on the floor The staff was extremely attentive, helpful and friendly. The dinner experience was the highlight of our Japan trip and I can only recommend it!

One of the most complex and interesting food I´ve ever tried. The staff treated us as members of a royal family. The apartment was beautiful. Definitely coming back one day.

Kenrokuen Garden is 10-minutes’ away on foot while the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art is a 15-minute walk away. Myoryuji - Ninja Temple is a 10-minute drive from the property. It has been an incredible expierence. The staff is very attentive: they explain the facilities of the ryokan, provide you with a map and point out the most important places to visit in the area. It was a pleasure, one of the best stays we have had in Japan.

Rooms have a tatami (woven-straw) floor and low furniture. Some offer beds, while other rooms come with traditional futon bedding. All rooms are fitted with air conditioning, a flat-screen TV and a fridge. Yukata robes are provided. Felt like a very traditional Japanese place, the food was absolutely incredible and very special, although sometimes hard for foreigners to eat grilled fish in the morning. The onsen on site is the best thing too.
