Would totally recommend to anyone who would like to experience a night in an old Japanese house.

Guests at the ryokan can enjoy an Asian breakfast. At Shirasagiyu Tawaraya, the traditional restaurant is open for dinner and serves Japanese cuisine. The ryokan is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in. The staff was amazing. So accommodating and professional. Even as English speakers in a rural area we were made to feel honored and respected. The food was Japanese for sure, not a bacon and eggs place. But the quality was first rate. Every meal delicious and varied, fish,beef, pork,veggies all in a beautiful style. The hot springs were superb and the traditional Japanese tatami mat room with a view of the mountains and sound of the river was over the top. I’d go back in a flash. A relaxing place surrounded by nature and walks to temples and shrines with amazing local craft stores. Beautiful

We loved our stay at Ryokan Yamamuro. Bungo-san and his mother were excellent hosts. The room had lots of space, and all the extras (tea, hot water, robes, etc.) made us feel right at home. The location was perfect to explore the wonderful city of Kanazawa. We would highly recommend anyone visiting Kanazawa to stay at Bungo-san's Ryokan.

Rooms have a tatami (woven-straw) floor and low furniture. Some offer beds, while other rooms come with traditional futon bedding. All rooms are fitted with air conditioning, a flat-screen TV and a fridge. Yukata robes are provided. Very authentic. The staff is great and the food is delicious. Very nice to relax. Would say that 1 night is probably sufficient

The 3-star ryokan has air-conditioned rooms with a shared bathroom and free WiFi. Kanazawa Station is 2.5 km away and Myoryuji - Ninja Temple is 3.6 km from the ryokan. The location is amazing. The guesthouse is about 2 minutes walking from Higashiyama district and another 2 minutes walking from the river promenade. If you like walking you can also walk to Kenrokuen (about 20 minutes). We didn't use the bus while being there. The guesthouse decoration is lovely. It feels like stepping into a museum! :D You can tell that the hosts really love their house and they want everything to be perfect :D Finally, the hosts are very nice and helpful!!
