The staff were so lovely and helpful; the breakfasts were beautiful and a true work of art; the personal onsen in the room was such a great experience; the lounge downstairs with local wines and sake on tap. They’d truly thought of everything to make our stay special, including Aesop products, pajamas and a speaker to enjoy our time in the room.

Perfectly equipped studio (even has a washing machine and laundry service isn’t easily available in Japan), in a great location, with super friendly staff and a great breakfast. Whole building has 3 rooms, it feels like you rent the entire hotel for yourself.

Bungo and his mother runs this amazing ryokan and the familial feeling is everywhere and the place is very welcoming for travelers

Set in Kanazawa, 400 metres from Kanazawa Castle, Kinjohro features air-conditioned rooms and free private parking. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. The Japanese breakfast was fantastic. The western breakfast was subpar in comparison. I would have loved to have had some homemade jam with my bread. Usually western breakfast does not need olive oil with their bread. Olive oil for dipping is more of a lunch/dinner option.

Boasting a 200-year history, Motoyu Ishiya features classic architecture, an original Noh stage and a garden. The best breakfast and dinner of the entire trip. Unique hotel for an exceptional experience. The best of all is their staff. Not for everybody, but I will definitely be back.
