We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this place. The area is stunning and the accommodation is spacious and cozy, and had everything we needed. It was the highlight of our honeymoon trip to stay in this ryokan. We were also able to choose between Japanese and European style breakfast in the morning which was nice. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay there longer. Thank you :)

We experienced two days of good life of the old Japan with all the modern amenities。 The hospitality provided by the owners and their staff was among the best we experienced。 The meals they served us were better than some Michelin 3 star restaurants we have been to.

Located a 5-minute drive from JR Kanazawa Station, Ryokan Yamamuro offers Japanese-style guestrooms with free WiFi. Omicho Market and Kanazawa Castle Park can both be reached with a 5-minute walk. The room was nice and traditional. A hot bath is available and can be used by couples. The host Bungo helped us book bus tickets for Shirakawago (if you want to go, book in advance) and helped call a taxi for when we left. The building and garden suffered some minor damages from the January 1st earthquake, we hope repairs go well.

Boasting a 200-year history, Motoyu Ishiya features classic architecture, an original Noh stage and a garden. Beautiful buildings and garden. Staff was amazing.
