Conveniently located in central Kyoto, Ryokan KANADE offers a Japanese-style garden. Kyoto Station is a 15-minute drive from this property. My girlfriend and I stayed at Kanade in September 2024. The ryokan offers a beautiful interior and room, as well as a convenient location (there are two bus stops nearby, allowing easy access to anywhere in Kyoto). The room also has a great view of the garden. We ordered breakfast at the hotel as well. Despite some issues in scheduling breakfast for us, thanks to the excellent and well-coordinated work of the staff and chefs, we were able to enjoy a wonderful breakfast that same morning. The beds are very comfortable, and there’s a lovely yukata set for two in the room. We liked everything and would be happy to stay again. Special thanks to the hotel staff who worked hard to make our stay comfortable and resolved any minor issues as quickly as possible.

Situated a 10-minute walk from lively Kawaramachi area, Kyomachiya Ryokan Sakura Urushitei offers Japanese-style accommodation with modern facilities and traditional design. It provides a tour desk and a bar on the ground floor. Free WiFi is available in all areas. Everything was fabulous but more importantly the staff went above and beyond to help me and ensure a great experience. I so appreciate all the help.

Seikoro Ryokan is located in Kyoto, a 7-minute drive from JR Kyoto Station. Featuring traditional Japanese-style accommodation, it offers a public bath and massage services. Free Wi-Fi access is available at the entire property. This was my favorite hotel. Unfortunately, when I arrived, I was sick from food poisoning and could not enjoy it to the max, but the staff was extremely good to me. I cannot thank them enough. The futon beds were extremely comfortable, all the structure really took me back to almost 200 years ago. I really wanted to get the traditional breakfast, but I was too sick so I got the western one that was delicious. Cant wait to be back.

Ryokan Sumiya Kihoan offers a hot spring bath and a hot tub, as well as air-conditioned accommodation in Kameoka, 13 km from Oyamazumi Shrine. This 4-star ryokan offers a lift and free shuttle service. There is a restaurant serving Japanese cuisine, and free private parking is available. An exceptional ryokan with outstanding service and incredibly polite staff. The atmosphere is peaceful, cozy, and very private. Our room with a private onsen was absolutely amazing, and the kaiseki dinner was unforgettable — truly a culinary experience.

The ryokan serves a vegetarian and vegan breakfast and breakfast in the room is also available. This place is absolutely marvelous as located in beautiful temple. Everything was perfect: we were greatly welcomed, the room was incredible. The breakfast was delicious. Many thanks to our host that was so kind and so helpful (parking space, cleaning up our luggage...etc). This is a place that we wish we could stay longer! We were invited at 6 am at the temple ceremony, it was a great experience. Many thanks to our host.

The hotel itself and our room were fantastic, we were very satisfied with our stay. The rooms are beautiful and spotlessly clean. The location is excellent, within walking distance to many places in the city center, and there is also a train station nearby. The hotel owners were incredibly kind, and they were very helpful upon our arrival and at our departure. We would be happy to stay here again on our next visit to Kyoto.
