Conveniently located in central Kyoto, Ryokan KANADE offers a Japanese-style garden. Open air bath was so worth it, they provide you with the bath for an hour and also a private powder room attached. Location of this Ryokan was unexpectedly really good, we thought that we booked a Ryokan in an isolated place but turns out it was very convenient to the places we wanted to go to. The nearest Lawson was only 6min by feet and the bus stops were very close. Staff were very friendly. Garden was very pretty. Definitely could feel the luxury that we paid for

Spacious rooms and a slightly westernized take on the classic ryokan. The room was very clean and we were very happy with the amenities in the room. Luck You Kyoto offers accommodation in Kyoto. Free luggage storage is available. The rooms are equipped with a flat-screen TV. The staffs were all super friendly and they took care of me and my family so well. And it was good that I could communicate with them in English quite well.

The beautiful decor, authentic experience with the irori bbq made in front of you was incredible. Everything was delicious, with strong attention to detail giving you a humble luxury that feels typically Japanese. The room was simply gorgeous and the bed incredibly comfortable. The complementary items (late night soba, stocked fridge) made it even more special and intentional.

The Taisho era building in Gion was a great base for us, a party of 2. The hosts were very polite, they gave fair warning about the lack of soundproofing due to the building's age and materials used. The Hinoki bathtub was a bonus to the trip. Floor heating and ample temperature control were great for winter in Kyoto. The location is amazing, centrally accessible to all major areas, and walking 'home' is part of the experience. Our room had a kitchenette, which was also essential, we like cooking with local fresh ingredients. (Also the soba (buckwheat) pillows are a nice touch!)
