An electric kettle with tea bags is also provided. The onsen was excellent, especially the outdoor stone onsen. The staff was very helpful. Before bedtime, they helped us to prepare our futon bed. The Japanese breakfast was delicious and nicely served. We had a room with tatami with ample space. The children loved it a lot. There was a shuttle bus driving between the train station and the hotel. It was very convenient.

Nagashima Spa Land is 34 km from the ryokan. Nagoya Airport is 65 km away. I was expecting ordinary cheap accommodation, but I got a pleasant stay in an old Japanese house. Bathroom and toilet outside the room, but extremely clean and comfortable. You can have breakfast or dinner in the bistro next door. There are tea plantations around, a beautiful environment. In the category of "cheap accommodation", it is absolutely exceptional.

At the ryokan, every unit is equipped with a wardrobe. Featuring a private bathroom with a bidet and slippers, units at the ryokan also boast free WiFi, while certain rooms are equipped with a terrace. All units will provide guests with air conditioning, a safety deposit box and a TV. The view was epic, the room and included bathing products and loaned pajamas were luxurious, and the 24-hr free coffee machine and Popsicles in the beautiful lobby were a bonus. Ample free parking, free 9pm pork ramen, ice machine, 350 yen canned cocktails, and very kind, English-speaking staff. Exceptional value (we booked the day before so it was a great price). Hot sauna, cold plunge, indoor and outdoor onsens open 6am-11pm, closed for a few hours midday for cleaning. Our best stay in Japan so far!

The rooms in the ryokan are equipped with a flat-screen TV. All units will provide guests with a fridge. To start off, if you arrive at Toba Train Station between 1430-1800, they provide free shuttle service to the hotel, which otherwise would be a 20 minute walk. Look for their name beside their car. The staff were friendly to a fault and even if they can't keep up with English, they'd do anything to help you. The place is old, that's what you get for looking for an onsen ryokan but it's well maintained and the cuisine offered was faultless.

Offering an outdoor pool and a restaurant, Todaya is located in Toba. The property is a 3-minute walk from JR Toba station and is a convenient location from where to tour Ise-Shima. Free WiFi access is available. The breakfast was delicious. The food tasted very fresh. We especially appreciated that many of the food stations had attendants preparing the dishes. It got very busy at one point, but we never had an issue getting our food. The shuttle to and from Toba Station was very convenient. We contacted the staff from a payphone at Toba Station. We were able to communicate our needs through our very limited knowledge of the Japanese language. The driver took our luggage and said they would store it till we checked in. This allowed us to continue on with our sightseeing plans without physically going to the hotel first. That really helped maximize our time in Toba! Wonderful Service!
