Just 250 metres from Zenko-ji Temple, Matsuya Ryokan offers simple Japanese rooms with tatami-mat floors, a green-tea maker and an attached Western bathroom. The hotel features public baths. The location was amazing and the staff treated us as family. It was wonderful, clean and cozy.

This is an amazing place with wonderful owners who are always very warm, helpful and committed. The hotel has an incredibly atmospheric and very well organized atmosphere. Comfort and quality at the highest level. It was very sad to leave so soon. The comfort of sleep, bedding, pillows is so great that I have never slept so well. I would gladly come back again for a good night's sleep. I am happy that I found this place and Matsumoto is worth getting to know better, thank you for such beautiful moments, and I hope to see you soon

We felt very welcomed. The space is amazing and private. The onsens are amazing ( inside and outside onsen) and overlook a waterfall. The food was fantastic . Located in the heart of Nozawa Onsen, Tanuki offers guests a traditional accommodation with Japanese-style rooms that feature tatami (woven-straw) flooring. Really modern and clean apartment. Loved the Japanese aesthetic and the friendly staff were great :)

Berg Marukaneya is located in Nozawa Onsen, 2 km from Lake Hokuryuko. The ryokan is a 3-minute walk from the nearest ski field and has a ski pass sales point. Guests can enjoy a meal at the... My husband and I loved our stay here. Only a 2 minute walk to the lift and 10 minute walk to the center of the village with lots of restaurants. We were provided with the traditional futon beds which was an interesting and not an all together uncomfortable experience. The room had a toilet and sink, but the showers were public by gender on a different floor (didn’t love that but we’re American and not used to it). The free breakfast is exceptional and the staff is oh so kind and helpful. We would stay here again.
