Just 250 metres from Zenko-ji Temple, Matsuya Ryokan offers simple Japanese rooms with tatami-mat floors, a green-tea maker and an attached Western bathroom. The hotel features public baths. If I could give 100 stars to this ryokan, I would do it! It was absolutely stunning experience in Nagano, the whole family and staff are extremely friendly, kind and polite. They receive lots of international travelers and they understand tourists needs. You MUST book dinners and breakfasts with them! It was amazing experience! On a practical note: rooms were authentic, hot water, heater were reliable. Location is superb, close to the temple and delicious snacks. This place is ideal for alternative travelers interested in local tradition and with the appreciation for culture and history: I wish the owners only the best customers!

Nằm ở Matsumoto, Mitsubikiya có khu vườn, phòng chờ chung, sân hiên, cùng Wi-Fi miễn phí ở toàn bộ chỗ nghỉ. this is a fantastic small Japanese style inn that has great shared showers area and a restaurant that serves yummy breakfast and dinner if you wish. we stayed in a large tatami style family room that had private sink and toilet, and found the shared shower and bath area very clean and great hot water pressure. the inn is basically a old private home that has been turned into a boutique inn. the location is fantastic, less than 10 minutes on foot to train station, museums, castle, and all the picturesque shopping streets. great restaurant on premise served delicious and reasonably priced set menu. this is a delightful property!

Truly one of the highlights of our time in Japan. The building, rooms, and onsen are incredible and the hospitality can't be beat. We were caught in a rainstorm before our scheduled pickup and the owners so kindly dried our sopping wet clothes and shoes. After that, we warmed up in the onsen which left our skin feeling so smooth and headed to a delicious and expansive dinner. We finished the night falling asleep to the roaring sound of the waterfall due to the heavy rains. We'll definitely be back.

Love the traditional Japanese bedroom. The room is so nice, clean, and so cozy. The staff are great and super nice and courteous and very attentive. The breakfast was excellent.

Berg Marukaneya is located in Nozawa Onsen, 2 km from Lake Hokuryuko. The ryokan is a 3-minute walk from the nearest ski field and has a ski pass sales point. Guests can enjoy a meal at the... Amazing time staying at this lovely hotel. They couldn’t have been more accommodating with changes or kinder when we visited.
