Soundproof rooms feature a serene interior with a tatami (woven-straw) floor, low furniture and shoji paper screens. Amenities include a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a fridge and toiletries. Guests sleep in Japanese futon bedding, and the rooms come with an all-wooden bathroom. A very comfortable tatami-mat room with a deep full soak tub. The location in regards to Nara Park was fantastic and I had a wonderful view of Tōdai-ji in the mornings. Things were very quiet, the staff went above and beyond to make sure my stay was everything it could be including walking me through all the amenities they had to offer. They also provided local area maps with all the main attractions and let me know how best to navigate what I wanted to do which helped quite a bit with planning how I spent my time.

Everything is beyond our expectation. Warm welcome drink upon checking in, japanese style breakfast experience, super caring & helpful staffs. They help me contact our previous hotel to find our forgotten wallet & without their help we couldn't get the wallet back for sure.

A spacious public bath and foot bath is available for guests to relax in. Free luggage before and after check-in is available on site. Free WiFi is available at the entire building. Loved the whole experience. We booked a traditional room and slept in futon beds. Since our arrival we were spoiled with refreshing drinks and high quality treatment. Everyone among the staff speaks English and they were happy to explain any details about the room, the onsen baths and the traditional meals. We reserved both dinner and breakfast and we were absolutely pleased with both!

Tsukihitei is located in the Kasugayama Primeval Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Each guest room has a Japanese-style decor and offer panoramic forest views, traditional tatami (woven-straw) floors, and shoji paper screens. Perfect location. Perfect hospitality. Perfect food. Perfect room. Hands down, this was the best stay we've had in any form of hotel or ryokan. Nara is an amazing place to visit, and Tsukihitei is THE place to stay in. Hidden in the most beautiful forest, just a short walk away from everything you want to see in Nara. The Roykan itself is built like fusion between zen garden and a Japanese palace.
