The staff was extremely helpful and kind, explaining everything in nearly perfect english. The ryokan also has a private bath that I was able to experience with my wife. The location is beautiful and calm, and I recommend waking up early and climbing the stairs to temple.

Kotono yado Musashino offers accommodation in Nara, and is located a 11-minute drive from Nara Station on the Kintetsu Nara Line. very competent and helpful staff. It really felt authentic

Wakasa Annex features an outdoor hot public bath and free WiFi. Other facilities include a 24-hour reception, drinks vending machines and free parking. Todai-ji Temple is only an 8-minute walk. Super welcoming place. We were mesmerized by the decor and the facilities. We wish we could have stayed more nights!

Offering public baths, Sarusawaike Yoshidaya is situated in front of Sarusawa-ike Pond. Kofuku-ji Temple is just a 2-minute walk away. Free WiFi is available on site. The front desk staff were SUPERIOR, the room was beyond our expectations. Located in the heart of NARA, it was a short walk to all of the attractions and downtown shopping/restaurant area. I can't say enough about the superior level of customer care we experienced and wish I could remember her name to give her credit directly.

Relaxing in one of the private baths after a busy day pounding the pavement. The meals (breakfast and dinner) were sumptuous. We have travelled extensively and stayed in many amazing and interesting places - this one is near the very top of the list. For those looking for something truly different from your standard luxury hotel chain experience, this is it!

Our room was very comfortable and spacious, super clean. Nice toiletries. We wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you so much to everyone at Ryokan Asukasou.

A 10-minute drive from Kintetsu Nara Train Station on the hotel’s free shuttle, Mikasa offers open-air baths and a dining room with beautiful Nara views. On-site parking is free. Incredible views in the room, and we had a delicious kaiseki meal. Staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay! Their office in the centre of Nara is extremely helpful, and you can store your luggage there prior to your stay and wander around town leisurely
