Both the dinner and the breakfast were delicious. The property is just a few minutes from the gorgeous Aharen beach. And the whole stay just felt magical.

The room and the hotel in general are cosy and beautiful : the design is very well thought and the Ryokan feel is real. Special thanks to the staff that has been lovely, very kind and helpful, even with our changing plans. They are the best hotel staff we met so far in Japan. The view on the ocean from the room was stunning, as well as the bathtub on the room. The Onsen is great as well, with the ocean view and a nice sauna. We had 2 dinners and 2 breakfast at the hotel and the food was delicious and very generous, on the pricy side but very delicate, and it was convenient to eat at the hotel as we didn’t have a car. The massage was divine as well, the practitioner very talented. Thank you so much to the staff for such a lovely time at your hotel !

Each room is equipped with a private bathroom equipped with a bath. Joya features free WiFi. We loved staying here as the atmosphere is very relaxing, cozy and chilled, it is just few minutes walk to Kabira bay and aprox 10min cycling to the big beach of Sukuji, roads are very quiet and surrounded by nature. Many different restaurants less than 5 min walk, even though Joyas restaurant is one of the best with lovely traditional tables and music. The Japanese futon beds were also very comfortable and they actually got rid of our back aches! but the best of our stay were the people, they made us feel at home. We got some rainy days and it didn't bother us as we were so comfortable.

The property is around 11 km from Yaeyama Museum, 18 km from Tamatorizaki Observation Point and 8.8 km from Ishigaki Dam. The property is clean, charming, and a short walk from the bus stop and Shiraho beach, full of marine life. Free shower and laundry soap, washing machine and tumble dryer are also available, which is convenient. Outstanding meals prepared by one of the minshuku owners, who is also a local artist. Do make time for a chat with her and her husband, who are happy to provide tips and recommendations for things to do in the area, and who facilitate conversation with other guests if staying for meals. Chances are you will spend a lovely evening getting to know fellow travellers around drinks and music. Stay at Irayoi if you're interested in learning about real Ishigaki life and culture!

Huge pool area, plenty of room for families and couples and plenty of loungers by pool and beach. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Huge variety.
