The host is charming and makes you feel so welcome providing lots of information to help you navigate the island. We will definitely be back again.

We loved staying here as the atmosphere is very relaxing, cozy and chilled, it is just few minutes walk to Kabira bay and aprox 10min cycling to the big beach of Sukuji, roads are very quiet and surrounded by nature. Many different restaurants less than 5 min walk, even though Joyas restaurant is one of the best with lovely traditional tables and music. The Japanese futon beds were also very comfortable and they actually got rid of our back aches! but the best of our stay were the people, they made us feel at home. We got some rainy days and it didn't bother us as we were so comfortable.

Free shower and laundry soap, washing machine and tumble dryer are also available, which is convenient. Outstanding meals prepared by one of the minshuku owners, who is also a local artist. Do make time for a chat with her and her husband, who are happy to provide tips and recommendations for things to do in the area, and who facilitate conversation with other guests if staying for meals. Chances are you will spend a lovely evening getting to know fellow travellers around drinks and music. Stay at Irayoi if you're interested in learning about real Ishigaki life and culture!

Very helpful, friendly staff. Lovely large hotel room. Huge pool area, plenty of room for families and couples and plenty of loungers by pool and beach. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Huge variety.
